Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
The German version of these terms is the legally binding version.
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed through the online shop maporo.art (hereinafter “Shop”), operated by Tung Nguyen, Brettacher Straße 5, 70437 Stuttgart (hereinafter “Provider”).
A consumer within the meaning of these terms is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor self-employed (§ 13 BGB, German Civil Code).
Deviating terms of the customer are not recognized unless the Provider expressly agrees to their validity in writing.
The offer is exclusively directed at persons who have reached the age of 18 and have full legal capacity.
2. Contract Language and Storage
The contract language is German. The contract text (your order data and these terms) is stored by us. You can view these terms at any time on this page. The order data will be sent to you via confirmation email. After completion of the order, your order data is no longer accessible via the internet for security reasons.
3. Contract Formation
The presentation of products in the shop does not constitute a legally binding offer, but rather an invitation to place an order (invitatio ad offerendum).
Technical steps to contract formation
- You design your map poster in the editor (map area, style, text, size).
- You add the finished design to your cart.
- In the cart, you can review your inputs and correct them using the “Back” function of your browser or the editing functions in the cart, before completing the order.
- By clicking “Order now”, you place a binding order (offer pursuant to § 145 BGB).
- Payment is processed via our payment service provider Stripe.
- After successful payment, you receive an automatic order confirmation by email. The purchase contract is concluded upon receipt of this confirmation (acceptance pursuant to § 147 BGB).
4. Prices and Payment
All prices are final prices including the applicable statutory value-added tax. Shipping costs are displayed separately before completing the order and are included in the total price.
Payment is due immediately upon placing the order. The following payment methods are available:
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
- Other payment methods supported by Stripe (depending on availability in your country)
If payment processing fails (e.g. insufficient funds, expired card), no purchase contract is concluded. You will be informed during the order process.
5. Products
We offer individually designed map art posters. Each poster is produced according to your personal specifications (map area, style, text, size).
Available sizes and prices are displayed in the shop. Minor color deviations from the screen display are technically conditioned and do not constitute a defect, provided they are within the industry-standard range.
6. Delivery and Delivery Area
Delivery is handled by our print partner to the delivery address you provide. We deliver to all countries that are selectable as delivery countries in the order process.
The estimated delivery time is 3–5 business days for production plus shipping time, which varies by delivery country. The delivery period begins on the day after the payment instruction for advance payment.
Shipping information with tracking will be sent to you by email once your order has been dispatched.
For deliveries outside the European Union, additional customs duties, import taxes, and fees may apply, which are to be borne by the recipient. The amount of such charges is beyond our control and is governed by the regulations of the respective destination country.
7. Transfer of Risk
For consumers, the risk of accidental loss or accidental deterioration of the goods passes to you only upon delivery of the goods, including in the case of mail-order purchases (§ 475(2) BGB).
8. Retention of Title
The delivered goods remain the property of the Provider until the purchase price has been paid in full.
9. Right of Withdrawal
The right of withdrawal for consumers is governed by statutory provisions. The full withdrawal policy can be found on our separate page: Right of Withdrawal.
Important note: Pursuant to § 312g(2)(1) BGB, the right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for the supply of goods that are not prefabricated and for whose production an individual selection or decision by the consumer is decisive, or which are clearly tailored to the personal needs of the consumer. As each poster is individually produced according to your specifications (map area, text, style, size), the right of withdrawal is excluded for these goods.
10. Warranty
Statutory warranty rights apply. The warranty period is two years from receipt of the goods.
If the delivered goods are defective, you may first choose between repair and replacement delivery. If subsequent performance fails, you may choose either a reduction in price or withdrawal from the contract.
Please contact us immediately about defects at contact@maporo.artso we can find a solution as quickly as possible.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, as well as for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health. We are also liable without limitation under the provisions of the German Product Liability Act.
For slight negligence, we are only liable for breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations) whose fulfillment is essential for the proper performance of the contract and on whose compliance the contractual partner may regularly rely. Liability in such cases is limited to foreseeable, contract-typical damage.
12. Copyright and Usage Rights
The map representations in our products are based on map data from external providers. The use of this data is subject to the respective license terms. Copyright in the map data remains with the respective rights holders.
By purchasing a poster, you acquire the right to use the printed poster for private, non-commercial purposes. Reproduction, digital distribution, or commercial use of the design is not permitted.
Map data: © Mapbox, © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
13. Data Protection
Information on the processing of your personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy.
14. Dispute Resolution
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR): https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
15. Final Provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as the protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the country of the consumer's habitual residence is not withdrawn (Art. 6(2) Rome I Regulation).
If the customer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from contractual relationships is Stuttgart.
Should individual provisions of these terms be or become wholly or partially invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that most closely approximates the economic purpose of the invalid provision.
